I am a person who only rarely runs a fever.

I even had glandular fever with NO fever - it was diagnosed by blood test b/c they couldn't figure out what was wrong w/me.

I've had numerous tummy bugs w/no fever.

When I do run a fever, I know I'm quite ill.

DingDongDraculaOnHigh · 06/12/2006 10:12

hmm I have had a cold for a few days and yesterday started feeling horrendously sick, still do today - not sure if I have had a temp but felt hot and mad last night so probably

foxinsocks · 06/12/2006 10:12

I have had a temp for most of this week with rumbling tummy (keep waiting for the full onslaught but it never seems to come!)

(don't know how old he is) If he is acting OK then I would try and ride it out for a bit. Just keep trying to get him to take liquids. You can try and give him some calpol to lower his temp.

foxinsocks · 06/12/2006 10:13

yes, mine started with a cold also

DingDongDraculaOnHigh · 06/12/2006 10:13

ooh foxy
maybe tis a sw/W london thing

DingDongDraculaOnHigh · 06/12/2006 10:13

dd had it a couple of weeks ago I thought I had escaped

dh has it too!

foxinsocks · 06/12/2006 10:16

how lovely for you all! I picked mine up from dd and ds. Dd is better but ds still has the cough.

Our doctor's surgery has a noticeboard with 'virus of the week' on it and this cough and tummy bug thing are apparently both on it (schoolgate mums tell me so!).

hate feeling nauseous

DingDongDraculaOnHigh · 06/12/2006 10:19

yes me too

I really thought I was going to vom on the way to nursery this am bleagh

Am going back to bed now (ah the joys of SAHMdom)

Do you feel dizzy and wobbly too?

foxinsocks · 06/12/2006 10:20

yes, especially when I have the temperature. Never thought the thermometer would come in so handy. I haven't been sleeping well because I've been too hot.

DingDongDraculaOnHigh · 06/12/2006 10:21

oh and to top it off I slept in a strange position the night before last and have buggerned my neck so if I did vom would prob miss the loo due to being all wonky

foxinsocks · 06/12/2006 10:23

just what you need.....I am half hoping I do eventually vom because it might make me feel better. Wassup with your kidney?

DingDongDraculaOnHigh · 06/12/2006 10:25

oh kidney now behaving so has a stay of execution! Looks like the op I had to correct the reflux worked.

I wish I could barf too but I am not the barfing type (I have to be on the verge of death)

madmarchhare · 06/12/2006 10:26

cheeryface, yep, sit it out as long as he is drinking plenty and keeping it down.

Weve all had colds, vomitting and general crapiness feeling over the last few weeks.

Doc told friend that these things can hang around for weeks on and off.

Turn your heating down. Calpol and Nurofen types can be given together if necessary.

foxinsocks · 06/12/2006 10:29

oh good news re the kidney

cheeryface · 06/12/2006 10:52

thanx, he's kept the calpol down and had very small sips of juice.
he's 7. i am assuming i only really need to worry if his temp goes really high and the calpol doesn't work .
i am ridiculously rubbish with illness. i am anxious person anyway and when they are ill i can't trust my own instinct as it's usually far too ott.
