So, off I trots to the chemist to buy yet another bundle of worming tablets Mind you - we have been clear for about 4 months which is good for us!

Anyway, my question is:

How long do the tablets take to work. Do I change all the beds today, give us all the tablets this afternoon OR give the tablets this afternoon and change all the beds tomorrow?

I feel sick, DS1 has just told me he has wiggly bits of string in his poo.

Glad to have found this thread though, off to Boots tomorrow.

Actually, does anyone know whether you can buy something off the shelf in ASDA/Tesco? If so I would go now, can't bear the thought of worms creeping out of bottoms during the night. >shudder

mymama · 06/12/2006 22:31

My ds2 has complained of a "sparkle" in his bottom at night time for a few weeks now. We did the worming thing thinking that is what it was.
He kept complaining so I took him to dr yesterday. Turns out he has a fissure in his bottom from holding onto poos for too long and then they are quite big when they come out, causing the damage. Dr said when he lays down at night and the muscles relax the fissure would cause some itching/discomfort.

Easy fix - cream 3 times a day and a mild laxative for a few days to get him into routine again.

LOL at "sparkle", glad he's better now though.

I've just looked at ASDA and Tesco online and they don't seem to sell anything that could be bought tonight. Odd how you can worm your dog at this time of night but not your family. Don't think I'll sleep a wink thinking about them.

Oh, another quick question. Does this bed changing business mean just the children's beds or our bed too? I stripped our bed this morning, clean sheets going on tonight, I'll never manage to have the sheets washed and dried for tomorrow night (no tumble dryer).

DH and I showing no symptoms (I would like to believe we don't have the blighters), if we take the meds tomorrow would we really need to change our bed, again?

myturn · 07/12/2006 00:11

Hello, hello, hello - what's going on here then??

MrsSpoon · 07/12/2006 14:04

LOL, I'm not very good am I? I blame illness in the family. I don't think I've posted so much in the Health section as I have done in the last few months.

Arrgh!!! Now Myturn knows we have worms!

All medicated today though.

myturn · 08/12/2006 14:02

Glad to hear it oh wormy one....
