Has anyone had their adult squint corrected with botox injection? How was the procedure, any side effects and is the result permanent? Was it painful at all? How long did the referral take? Can you recommend a good hospital? sorry for so many questions.

No, I'm a 42 year old squinter! I had two lots of surgery as a teen which didn't fully correct my squint, but as I have glasses anyway I have prisms.

Botox only lasts 3 months, so it wouldn't be a long term solution

Hi CMOT, can prisms glasses correct your squint? Does it make the squint less noticeable?

I'm waiting for corrective surgery (in December) for my squint that I've had since birth. I'm also 42 and hoping for an improved cosmetic look to my eyes. I have a squint of 30 diopters and can only be corrected to about 10 as anything below that I experience double vision.

I'm a little nervous that its all going to go wrong as in some photos I dont have a squint at all (depending on whether im tired). I'n nervous of them over correcting too. My surgeon seems happy that i'll have a good outcome though so I'll leave myself in his hands. I'll try and update after the surgery if I can.

timeou, I've my squint since small and I'm also in my forties. My squint is small so I'm not considering surgery. No double vision but I'm getting more self conscious about it. Like you, my squint is intermittent as some photos I looked fine with no squint at all. Please do update.
