My little girl is 2 and I was told I had a mild bladder prolapse after her birth, it has steadily worsened ovet time and now have a constant feeling of a 'lump' in may vagina, air in my vagina and slackness during sex. I was referred to gynae and saw them this week, he examined me and said I have a slackness im the posterior wall which is causing my problems, I also have hardly any pelvic floor strength. I have done kegals until I can do no more, I have an electric stimulator which has helped a little, he has referred me to the gynae nurses for more physio and if that doesnt help he mentioned surgery. Frankly im scared of that but cant carry on the way I am, I cant remember a day where I havent felt normal down there. Does anyone have any experience of this/surgery/physio, I know how common it is but I am only in my early 30s and I feel so alone

Hey

I don't have anything helpful to say as I've only just been diagnosed with prolapse after the birth of (very large) dc1 this year. I just wanted you to know you're not alone.

I'm still coming to terms with things and trying to feel like a woman after the birth and now this news, and trying to make lifestyle changes to hopefully stop things from getting worse, although your post doesn't make me feel very confident on that front. My baby is big and heavy and obviously I have to lift and carry them but also I want to be a fun playing mum, not worried that my every move will make the prolapse worse. I'm also in my 30s and feel pretty desperate about this, and scared to have another child.

Hi, I have 2 dcs. I had a prolapse after the birth of my dd. It wasn't great but it was quite minor. I was 36 at the time. I got used to it. I had to have surgery for some other gynae stuff so they did my prolapse at the same time. The surgery was s little painful, took a few weeks to recover from, not ideal obviously with young kids, but I was ok after about two months.

Before this I did pelvic floor exercises too. Took a while to notice any improvement.

There's an excellent prolapse thread on here, lots of information and support, think it's 'any old prolapse'?? Not sure
