Chicken pox questions - a bit worried

Hello
Dd has had chicken pox since last Friday. She hasn't been too bad, covered in spots, but they hardly seem to itch at all, and she hasn't been scratching. Consequently I haven't put a lot of calamine lotion on, as she wasn't too keen and I didn't want the battle. I now worry though if she's more likely to be left with scars because I didn't really treat the spots with anything, just letting them heal by themselves?
The other question is: When can I come out of the chicken pox-induced isolation - I'm going stir-crazy? Do you think I can send dd to preschool tomorrow? THe spots are scabbing over.
Thank you for your help!

emkana, if your dd has not been scratching then you have nothing at all to worry about with regard to scarring. If they are all drying by themselves then they will just fade away gradually.
dd's nursery were happy to take her back once all the spots were dry - have a word with your preschool and see what their policy is. If she is feeling well and there are no more 'wet' blisters then I'm sure she'll be able to go back and you can get your sanity back!

I'm pretty sure they're nothing you can do to prevent scarring, other than try and stop them from scratching and maybe put vit E oil on after all scabs have fallen offf. my ds has just had it and he too was covered but no scratching, he doesn't seem to have any scars apart from one tiny one.

they stop being infectious 5 days after spots first appear (nhs direct website). so if spots came out friday she would be ok today.
