Gosh.
Ok.
I'm about 21 stone. And getting heavier... I'm only 5.3'
Iv had a very rough time recently, lost my house, lost my job, broke up with my long term partner.

I never use to worry about my weight but it's becoming an issue, and if I sing I get out of breath, also noticed I sweat alot more.... Not attractive at all

Iv kicked myself up the bottom tonight and deco, no more messing around... Tomorrow is the day I start to lose the weight.

I need help. I don't eat overly loads I don't think. But I do very little exercise.

What exercises do you recommend for the very over weight and unfit. I want to lose weight but really don't want saggy skin.

Would appreciate any help please

Thank you

I am overweight also, although not to the same extent. Slimming world worked ! for me.
It doesn't matter that you think you eat not a lot.
It's what you eat.
WE is really worth a try.

Hello from a fellow sufferer. I've been there, spent years telling myself I really must do something. Then I found lie car. Most especially the boot camp threads on MN. It's brilliant. Please get yourself over there and give it a try. Good luck.

I think when you're very overweight your gp can help pay for slimming world...? And definitely a gym membership, although I totally agree with pp, you really need to start moving by walking increasing distances. There's a good app called Map My Walk I think, so you can track where you've been, improvements, and you can also choose to have motivational statements throughout your walk! Brilliant stuff.

You should also ask your gp to see if you might be diabetic. At that BMI you're certainly high risk. Knowing is better than not knowing! Also say you'd like a general mot, that you want to lose weight, what support can they provide?

Calorie counting can be useful and educational but over the longer term can be bloody boring and demotivisting. You know that energy in has to be less than energy out, it's that simple.

My hunch would be that if you've got this heavy and you don't think you're overeating, there is definitely something to be learnt about what you're putting in to your body. We all get stuck in bad habits which become normal!

Also if you're an emotional eater, you will need to address this somehow as this can easily undo lots of hard work. You say you're depressed - are you receiving any kind of treatment for this?

Cutting these things out of my diet for a while always makes me drop a lot of weight:

Alcohol
Bread
Pasta

That's not a long-term solution for most people but it is a quick fix to drop some weight to give you a self-esteem boost and that might spur you on.

Walk lots too. Start going round the block.

It might be worth having a look at Orlistat too as you might qualify weight-wise. Speak to your doctor. You can also order it online.

Also I'm not being rude but the bigger someone is, the more weight initially drops off them when they first start trying to lose weight. So make the first few changes/ efforts and you WILL see and feel a difference. Once you've lost a little bit, reward yourself with a new hairstyle or get your nails done or do something that makes you walk tall. Flowers
