Lights have started in one eye, can hardly see the keyboard, how can I stop it?

Get off the computer, lie down in a dark room. Have you got any migraleve or Syndol?

you can go to the pharmacist and get Imigran over the counter (check with the pharmacist if you are on any other medication)

Hope the head's better today - I know these attacks can sometimes go on/off for up to 4 days because they do with me.
Ask your doctor about something called Maxalt (chemical name rizatriptan). I take these (one in the form of a disolving wafer) and that one tablet stops the pain within 40mins for up to 12hrs. They may be the answer for you as long as you are not on conflicting meds but you'd have to ask the doc.

Good news girls ref. Syndol

Just back from town (Belfast) and was able to buy Syndol in Boots

At other chemists I was told they would be back in September!!

900mg dispersible aspirin (that is 3 normal sized tablets )

Current in vogue treatment (or so I'm told by more knowledgeable friends). Much much cheaper than all the proprietary treatments and available OTC.

Obv. don't take if you can't take aspirin.

2x ibroprofin. Lie down.

If that doesn't work cocodomol 1x if I need to be able to do anything in the next 12 hours-it completely lays me out.

I'm a fan of the aspirin thing - it really works for me. My trusty knowledgable neurologist friend assures me that it has been proven to be as good as or better than other anti-inflammatory type drugs. The dispersible tablets mean it absorbs really quickly before the bad gastric stasis/ vomiting sets in and is therefore more effective.

Although having seen what I puke when I have a migraine it always feels like my body stops digesting stuff days in advance (sorry if TMI!)

On my n=1 study the aspirin works really well and I now have a strip of 3 aspirins in virtually every bag I own as I'm on a bit of a bad migraine spell at present.

Oh and I got a visual aura for the first time a couple of months ago which was v. freaky and then one of my worst migraines ever (didn't take aspirin as didn't realise what was about to happen. Thought I was having a stroke!)
