Puking Five Year Old - When to Seek Medical Attention?

DS1 is 5, generally healthy, but quite thin.

He was ok this morning, but has since been sent home from school as he was poorly. I brought calpol, gave him some, he vomited it out. He had water in the taxi, threw that up, too.

He's in bed now. He has thrown up again, from having more water. I've enouraged him to sip water, not gulp, but obviously the puking is worrying me a bit.

When do I take him to A+E?

Oh, re: holidays, we have the ILs appearing on the 25th (and we'll of course be in a panic before then), and they're going on the 27th or 28th I think.

I plan to take DS1 to the pantomime in Hackney. Apparently MIL was wavering between Hackney and the Barbican, but has decided on the Barbican, for their outing with DS1. Thank god. I tried to explain why I felt the Hackney one wouldn't work for her, but it all fell apart when I tried to explain what hip-hop was.

We're going to my Mum's on the 28th, and back for new year via my sister's. Hmm. I think Andy is back at work after that - maybe ds and I could come up by ourselves for the day?

FrannyandZooey · 30/11/2006 19:25

Oops. I put dp's name. Good job they won't know his real name is Abdy.

NotQuiteCockney · 30/11/2006 19:56

Sure. You can stay over if you like, too, but I'm guessing you're concerned about the Incredible Non-Sleeping Boy experience again?

Well. Erm. A bit, yes

NotQuiteCockney · 30/11/2006 21:33

Has he done that at other people's house? Was it maybe the presence of Magnus and Leon? It was very strange.

Oh, he did at the hotel, too, didn't he?

Yes but it started at yours so We Blame You

I think it was major major excitement and adrenalin in the presence of two real boys (I don't think he has ever been in a room with more than two males in before, poor child)

did you mean to put dses real names in there? Did I start a trend for disclosure?

NotQuiteCockney · 30/11/2006 21:43

I didn't mean to, no. Not that I'm that bothered, anyway.

Ah, so you're blaming testosterone transfer? Maybe come stay another time. Tell him he needs to actually sleep, in order to stay?

Are there no men at your sister's house or your mum's?

The men in our family tend to be very very low key, on both sides

I think I only really have one male relative who converses, for instance

NotQuiteCockney · 01/12/2006 07:36

Oh, yes, we have men like that. DH isn't like that though.

Does Abdy converse? He kinda does, doesn't he? But he's not exactly high-energy.

Quite.
