Lump, not quite armpit, not quite breast!

Just over a week ago I found a small (pea sized) hard lump lower than my armpit and next to my breast. The lump is movable and doesn't in itself hurt to touch. I gave it a week before going to the GP just to see if it disappeared of its own accord but no such luck! The GP didn't seem to know whether it was anything to worry about (could be lymph node, she wasn't sure) and so decided to refer me for a scan. Since seeing the GP, I have found another lump on the same side but slightly lower. Now everything in the area feels sore, kind of achy and just like there is a lot of pressure in the area. I haven't bumped it, not breastfeeding etc. I don't know whether to go back to the GP, to see if some sort of infection, or just wait for my referral appointment to come through, stocking up on painkillers for the time being. We're due to go on holiday at the weekend so the timing really sucks as although I'm trying hard not to, I can't help but worry!
Any thoughts/advice would be very gratefully received!!

So sorry to read this - and hope it all goes well with the scan.
I had mastitis when I was breast feeding and developed something similar to what you describe - the GP actually said it was acting a little like a third nipple and when he squeezed it milk drops gathered (effing painful when you have mastitis and it was a sore hard lump anyway). I had antibiotics and it cleared although I do still have what looks like a little skin tag in that area.
Sorry I can't be of more help. I did see you aren't b.fing at the moment but thought I'd post and help bump this for you.
