Had GnRHas injection for fybroids now have severe joint pain :-(

Hi had my first injection 6 weeks ago and had what I thought was a pulled shoulder muscle 24 hours later. This has came and gone. I had another injection monday and my pain has exasperated. Doctor has sent me for an X-ray and prescribed 30mg dose of cocodamol to manage the pain which is not happening. The pain is still excruciating.

Doctor doesn't seem to think it is a side effect from injections but I am at a loss as to what's wrong. I have never suffered arthritis and have not had any injury. Just wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience

I don't have any experience of the injections yet. I've been prescribed this as surgery is not an option due to where my fibroid is. I haven't made the appointment yet as I can't help reading up on it. The internet says this is only a short term solution and the fibroid can grow back after you stop the injections. Have you been prescribed hrt along with the injections? I don't see the point of going through a temporary menopause just for it to grow back later on and I'd need a hysterectomy anyway! Has your gynaecologist told you any of this? X

hi clarestef thanks for your reply sorry so late getting back. doc has diagnosed me with arthritis and trapped nerve due to the swelling. been referred to a specialist as I am now on tramidol, valium, and cocodamol to kill the pain. I have been back to the clinic who gave me the injections and they have admitted that some people can suffer the sudden onset off arthritis as a side effect. grrrrr I am so angry I never did my research before accepting this option. they are shrinking my fibroid so they can perform a hysterectomy through the non invasive route.
