Very very thin hair problem.

I have had very thin hair for a long time and, in the last 10 years I have gone thin too, IYSWIM. Having my ds last year made it even worse! I bf for 13 months, stopped in September and I think my hair has now returned to normal but it's so thin my scalp is clearly visible on top, my fringe is so thin you can count the hairs!

Does anyone know of any vitamins, or other, I can take that would encourage hair growth? The thin hair I can live with but thinning hair is a different problem. All products on the market seem to be aimed at thin hair.

the phytologie range does vits and herbal sprays, but i can't really vouch for whether they work. they're french, though, so you never know...

from a good health store (prob not holland and barrett though)

solgar "Hair Skin and Nails"

Country Life "Maxi Hair"

they are both good, similar but different ingredients. I usually recommend alternating, a month on one and then a month on the other.
you will have to use them for several months as the results will only be noticeable on the new hair growth (not the existing hair)

for more immediate results try Jason "Thin-to-Thick" shampoo or conditioner. Its supposed to be fantastic. I have one relative (and several customers) who swear by it)

thanks gloworm. will try the vits.

I have this problem.
Saw palmetto (herbal supplement), and peanuts were the things I was told, and they seem to have helped a bit. There are other things that I can't remember right now, but I'll come back to htis thread when I do remember.

saw palmeto might help (especially if your hair loss is similar to male pattern baldness).Again, you will get better results if you use a decent brand (100 capsules for 50p are unlikely to work )
also, dont use saw pam. if you're on the pill/hrt etc
