Diagnose me please! Joint problems

Of course, I'm not really after a diagnosis here but would like to know if anyone has any suggestion as to what my symptoms may be and what I can say to/ask the Gp for.

I've got joint pains. My left wrist and both ankles are quite bad at the moment. If I weight bear on my left ankle in a certain way it feels like a hot knife is jabbing upward into the joint. The outer sides of both feet are also painful. My right big toe joint feels achey too and it gets puffy, as does the top of my right foot. My left wrist and left big thumb joint are painful and puffy.

I have a lot of lower back pain and shoulder pain, though the shoulders aren't too bad at the minute. I'm getting upper back pain in the morning recently.

I generally feel very stiff all over for a bout half an hour or so when I get up.

Any ideas as to what might be going on or what I can do/take to ease it?

Thanks

Have they done vit D?

Do you have your calcium result?

Anti-CCP is the most accurate test for rheumatoid arthritis, however a negative result doesn't necessarily mean you don't have it. I would push your GP for a referral to a rheumatologist as a lot of your symptoms sound like mine and I have RA.

Well in not unwell in any other way, no jaundice or anything, not even a hint of a sniffle so I don't know what else the inflammation could be apart from my joints.

No point second guessing I suppose, I'll see what the Dr says on Friday.

I was going to ask if I would be unreasonable to ask for a referral in these circumstances? Pp said I should so that's reassuring to know.

I had a look back through my medical records and I've had joint pain for over 2.5 years. Just one joint at first, then other joints independently, now multiple joints at once. At the moment my wrists and feet are quite bad, as is one elbow - it's very painful to lift anything (kettle, glass of water etc) or to put the phone to my ear. It's my right elbow and I'm right handed.

Also, someone mentioned fibromyalgia - I've been convinced for years that I have that. Little things like when someone taps my upper arms or the to top of my back the pain is ridiculous - starts out as the normal sensation you'd get if someone poked you but intensifies to the point that it brings tears to my eyes and I can still feel it for ages after. Does anyone else identify with that?

Thought I'd update - saw Gp on Friday. He said my CRP was a little raised so in view of that plus my joint pains, stiffness and puffiness, plus my history of psoriasis he is going to refer me to a rheumatologist.

I'm glad he's taking me seriously, and hope I get an appointment through fairly soon. What can I expect at my rheumatology appointment?

In the meantime, I just have to manage the pain.

Thanks again for all the advice.
