I was told I had gallstones early last year after suffering bouts of nausea vomiting and horrible upper abdomen discomfort. Iiver function was also off the scale that I was called into see my gp urgently. I eventually saw a consultant I opted to lose weight and try and control with diet rather than a operation. Now again I am having problems I was up all night with the most horrible abdominal discomfort as well as vomiting and it won't go away and I feel really nauseated. My doctor said it could be the gallstones but is treating me with acid tablets to rule that out but they have done nothing and I can't bear feeling so I'll for another night and day. Should I go to the hospital and hope they do something I can't stand It and I can't even eat.

I had gallstones when 8 weeks pregnant, and was in terrible pain and admitted to hospital for two weeks, with the pain coming every 3 hrs as my bile duct was blocked by a gallstone. I was on codrydamol and pethidine.

As they didn't want to operate as I was pregnant, someone on the consulting team remembered that a neighbouring county hospital preformed a procedure where they make a slit in the bile duct via an endoscopy, allowing the gallstones to drop through.

So this is what I had done under sedation. Very organised, very quick, end of pain. I wonder if your hospital could do this?
