buried penis

Help, i changed my baby's nappy and his penis had gone completely inside itself. after looking on the net, i believe he is suffering from a condition called buried penis - i am taking him to the doctor this afternoon. he is four months old and was circumsised when he was born - he has only now developed this problem, and was perfectly 'normal' before. when i pressed down on the skin around it, it popped back out (and it's a perfectly normal size when it's out). he is a podgy baby - has anyone had similar experiences and what was the outcome. thanks for your input!

Was he cold? They tend to shrivel when they get chilly and if you've got a little podge it might have just got stuck. Don't panic. I always do that looking on the internet thing and you always find out the most horrendous things. Hope the GP can put your mind at rest

What's that got to do with it HMo2? Bit personal, don't you think?

Sorry HMo2 . I thought you were going to wade in with an anti-circumsision argument.

My ds1 was really podgy as a baby and his willy used to sort of telescope inside itself. He's been to a urologist for an unrelated problem and she never mentioned it. He's 7 now and it's fine.

doctor said it is quite common for 'fat babies' and that he should grow out of it when he starts walking and slims down. let's hope he's right!
