Hypertensive hydrocephalic syndrome

I'm in Moscow, where the approach by Doctor's is rather more "hand's on" than in the UK to say the least. Our very happy baby boy is now 5 months, he was an emergency C section babe. Having spent an hour with the paediatrician for what I though would be a routine check up, she has diagnosed hypertensive hydrocephalic syndrome - apparently this is very common in C section babies due to the sudden change in pressure experienced when they are hoisted out rather than travelling down the birth canal. I not too freaked out by this as I am aware of the different approach here - very invasive / "preventative" , whisked into hospital at the drop of a hat etc etc. For someone who comes from a family who visits the doctor once every forty years and for whom two paracetamol and a brisk walk are a cure for everything from piles to a broken arm, this has made me a little uneasy. I'm not panicking, but has anybody else experienced this?

I'm really sorry- I know nothing about this, but I shall bump it for you.

I have to say I have never heard of such a serious condition due to C-section. I think you'd be more likely to shuffle him along to a cranial osteopath if he were cranky and restless. If he seems fine, I cant say Id be especially worried.

And- I like your medical philosophy! Ours is similar, but has been sorely tested this year.
