Hello, I posted quite recently about my dd's horrendous , scalded bottom nappy rash, exacerbated by teethng acid poos.

I got lots of helpful advice and tried out all the suggestions. It seemed to get a bit better, although not perfect. Now over the last day it has got even worse than before.
Now even when she has a wee she screams and screams in pain for ages. Her whole bottom area is bright red, bumpy and very hot. She' pooing every half an hour too.
She has also had a temp at times today.

I noticed the other day that an impetigo type sore had appeared on her arm, although it wasn't weeeping or crusty and I have applied Fucidin to it.
I was looking at the "Net dr" web site and it said that some rashes could be due to bacterial infections and the symptoms seemed to fit those of dd, especially considering the sore on her arm.
I will take her to the docs on Mon anyway. I just wondered of anyone here has had experience of this and did antibotics clear it up? Or could it simply be teething?

What is upestting both for me and especially for her is that no matter what I slather on her bottom it doesn't help one jot
Thanks

My boys never had v bad nappy rash, not like this, so I have no personal experience here.

But it sounds like she's unwell, and that's making the nappy rash worse, rather than the nappy rash being the problem, iyswim. If she poos every half hour, then of course she'll get a nappy rash!

Is it possible for her to have some naked time? Not very tempting with the continual pooing, I know ...

This is a very good webpage on nappy rash, with a bit at the end that talks about the different kinds of nappy rash ...
