Neck pain and tingling feet

Has anyone ever had neck strain that has developed into tingling in both feet? Neck has been so sore the last three days to the point I feel sick and now my feet are tingling?

Sounds like a trapped nerve to me. I had constantly tingling feet with a slipped disc in my back. Have you tried ibuprofen? Take the maximum dose for a day or so to see if that helps.

Icantstopeatinglol · 22/05/2015 10:54

That's one problem, I can't take ibuprofen due to stomach issues. I've got inflammatory arthritis too so hoping it's not now affecting my neck. Paracetamol and heat is all I can use. Feet are freezing now!

TBH, I would be seeing a doctor with those symptoms.

A friend slipped a disc in her neck and ended up with nerve damage to her arm.

Thanks soup I'm waiting for the gp and nurse specialist to call. Trying not to get too ahead of myself but just don't feel right. Got two pairs of socks on and feet are still cold! Really hope I haven't damaged my neck Sad

I think neck strain would cause tingling hands more than feet. Hope you are ok

SoupDragon · 22/05/2015 11:15

Hope it's all OK.

Icantstopeatinglol · 22/05/2015 11:17

I'm sure it's fine, thank you Smile

Saw gp, she said it's a muscle spasm (bloody painful!!). She's given me codeine and if not better by Monday she'll give me diazepam. God hope it's eased by then! It was agony when she was forcing my neck to the side! She said I've got to mobilise it to loosen it off. Shock

That's good... Even if it is painful!

Icantstopeatinglol · 22/05/2015 17:34

Yes definately! Hope it eases soon. Can't bear the ice pack so I'm sticking with heat, paracetamol and codeine! Wish I could have WineSmile

Muscle spasms can be excruciating but the sooner you can get it moving the sooner it passes. I've had a back spasm several times now, the pain is indescribable! Heat is better, it helps the muscle move

Icantstopeatinglol · 23/05/2015 06:31

OMG!! I'm in so much pain I literally cried myself to sleep and I've woke up and it's still there!!! I can't cope!

I slipped a disc in my neck and it was excruciating but it was an arm and hand that I lost the use of. I was also told it was spasm and advised chiropractor. The chiro manipulation helped squeezed the disc out a little bit more speeding me to a neurosurgical theatre Hmm

You have my sympathy and I would caution against putting up with it for too long.

Icantstopeatinglol · 23/05/2015 07:29

Oh god ifmaybebut that sounds painful too! Well I've had 2 paracetamol 2 15mg codeine and got a heat pad on my neck so hoping it eases just a bit soon! I was gutted when I woke up and it was still there. It's just so exhausting. I am trying to mobilise it but it doesn't seem to help at all.

Definitely get the diazepam. I would be extremely careful when mobilising it.your neck is very delicate and big stretches will make it worse. The tiniest of movements are needed. Even just lying flat and moving it a tiny bit. Take it easy. Hope better soon.

Icantstopeatinglol · 23/05/2015 10:16

Thanks fanjo, yea she said big stretches cos the muscle is in constant spasm. You can actually see a lump on the left side of my neck. Codeine is helping a bit. I'll see how it goes Confused

Any physio i have seen has advised extreme caution with your neck. But obviously I am not a GP and she is trained and experienced :)

Icantstopeatinglol · 23/05/2015 11:56

Thanks fanjo, I'll be careful. It doesn't seem to be easing so think I'll be back to the drs Monday/Tuesday.

Wine seems to be helping a bit! Hoping I don't regret it in the morning! Confused
