I went for an eye test yesterday at Specsavers I'm currently 33+6 and was diagnosed with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (I.I.H) in March 2013 so get them done at least once a year.

They took the prescription from my previous glasses in my bag which where;

 Sph      Cyl      Axis

R +0.50 -0.50 119
L +0.50 -0.50 92

Now they've given me this prescription and told me I've gone from being long sighted to short sighted in the space of around 12 months;

           Sph          Cyl       Axis

R 6/10 -0.25 -0.50 90
L 6/10 0.00 -0.50 90

When I was picking them up the man seemed really surprised and said that that was a massive jump, I asked for a copy of my prescription so I could ask Vision Express who had done my last copy and they were really funny with me. They actually refused for about 5 minutes before just writing it down (I managed to take a photo when he left the desk of what the long piece of paper said)

Is this normal? my I.I.H has been under control since March, no medication and eyes have generally been fine. He didn't seem concerned when I mentioned I keep seeing little round black dots that blank tiny bits out they don't move so I don't think they're floaters but it doesn't happen a lot but almost daily I notice like black thins at the top, bottom or corners of my eye moving, kind of like catching a spider making a run for it across the floor/ceiling/bed and when I look there's nothing there.

I know to look out for the curtain/veil of blackness or bright shooting lights which haven't happened I just don't know whether to trust this prescription, I don't know what any of this means so I'm kinda clueless

I would either ask for retest by different (senior) optician, and ask GP for advice ?referral to hospital Eye Clinic or whoever is looking after your I.I.H., especially in view of the 'floaters'.
Is your BP OK?

It's very common to go from long sighted to short sighted, more so in children. Add pregnancy into and eyes can go bonkers. It's not a big jump either, 0.5 diopter in one eye, and 0.75 in the other, so totally normal for a prescription change in pregnancy

Neuro Consultant is looking after my I.I.H was suppose to be referred to an ophthalmologist in March 2013 when I was diagnosed due to going from 6/6 to 6/9 right and 6/10 in my left, lost a lot of visual field, and some spots in my centre however it returned but it never happened I assume because it went back to normal they weren't overly concerned about it. I see him on the 1/6 so if it's very common I don't mind waiting and having him have a look.

BP was 120/81 last Tuesday normally about 110/70 so not to bad, eye pressure was 18 in both eyes so that was fine too doesn't look/feel like I.I.H is rearing it's head

Thanks for the reassurance! They do help I've warn all day due to it feeling better/sharper/clearer so was most likely needed will teach me to get it done sooner if things start blurring up!

Thank you Faded and Turn Flowers

Your BP stuff sounds fine. My eyes changed fairly dramatically in all three pregnancies, then levelled out. Big changes from 36+ weeks though, I'm probably more aware from working in optics for 20 years!
