Anyone know anything about prostates?!

DH has been having lots of symptoms (won't go into details out of respect for the bloke...) but suffice to say, he's been to the GP, given a urine sample and has now been called back to see her - we tried to make an earlier appointment (she's been off on holiday for the last week and a half) but they said he had to see her.

I'm going to go with him on Tuesday and we're both trying to be calm and rational - but obviously we're really worried. Anyone know why we might have been called back and why that specific GP?

Yes good luck tomorrow. Flowers

Thank you so much Pacific - that was so kind of you to remember Smile. Quite nervous now, but trying not to show it. We went out for a walk earlier, and had a little chat about what might happen tomorrow - didn't let on I'd posted on here but just said I'd been googling.

Thanks nickers

We're just back from the GP - good news is that the blood test (which I hadn't realised he'd had Blush) and the urine test were all completely normal and no signs of anything that would indicate prostate cancer. Bad news is that his T2 diabetes has got much, much worse since his last routine test - which, she is pretty certain, is causing the tiredness and night weeing. He's been referred to a urologist anyway as the blood in his semen does need to be checked out, and is now with the Practice Nurse finding out how to test his blood sugars daily - he's on another type of medication which can cause hypos, and so he needs to monitor his blood.

So a bit mixed. Relief on one hand, but a lot of worry about another thing on the other.

Thanks again for all your advice and support - you've all been brilliant Smile

Thanks nickers. Yes, there is a clinic at our surgery so plenty of support is available, fortunately.

Ah, well, I'd take that as Good News - I am sure his diabetes can be stabilised and that will improved at least some of his waterworks problems Smile
And he's been referred - all good.
Hope you can relax a bit now Brew

Thanks Pacific. Yes, feel a heck of a lot more relaxed now Smile
