I was recently diagnosed with intercystial cystitis having had investigations I have hunners ulcers so was in a lot of pain for moths along with toilet trips broken sleep etc. I am currently having bladder instillation s to help with symptoms which are easing but still have bad days. Gave up drinking certain foods . We have one dd aged 3 I am nearly 35 and thinking about another baby! Dh is desperate for one but I am very apprehensive because of the above! Obviously time isn't on my side really and having had late miscarriage prior to dd. Anyone have anything similar how did you cope? Did it get worse better?

Hi, I also have IC. I am getting married at the weekend and the next logical step is children and I like yourself am worried about how symptoms could be etc. From my research it seems like it is the same as everything with IC and it differs from person to person. Some people have worsening symptoms when pregnant and others disappear completely. I am also on installations and also mirabegron and have the condition under more control then my diagnosis 3 years ago which brings me to the decision of whether I want to stop all my medications and become pregnant and possibly being in hell for 9 months. I know this isn't much help but I thought I would share my small amount of knowledge and say I know how you feel. Take Care x

Thank you that's really helpful! I stopped taking the megogron as it upset my stomach!! Installations are not helping as much as I had hoped! It's a mindfield I can't say anything particularly triggers it apart from my periods and stress!! It's really nice to hear from someone esle who has it as some don't realise how much it affects your life xx

Thanks for the well wishes. What instillations are you on? My 1st type did nothing but the ones now actually seem to help a bit. I am the same as you, have a few foods that triggers but then the rest is a mystery. For the 1st 18 months it controlled my life and I sank into depression but I am determined to flight back and have made massive progress probably thanks to getting a little benefit from treatment. Its difficult because it isn't an illness you can see and people just assume it is like normal cystitis which it truly isn't. When you try and tell someone that you have a nagging need to go to the toilet 24/7 they don't quite get it and thats without all the other symptoms.
