How to bounce back after gallstone op.

I'm due to have my gallbladder removed in the next few weeks. What 'super foods' and/or vitamins can I take before and after the op to aid a speedy recovery and to make me feel as well and strong as possible?

I know I will have to take it easy for a while and there are no miracle foods that will have me dancing around the recovery room I just want suggestions of things I can eat/take to achieve optimum health before and after.
TIA

It took a month for my ultrasound scan (& that was a cancellation) but I then jumped across to private as have BUPA cover through work.

Shock Looks like I may be waiting a while then. Glad he gave me the painkillers. Sad

Don't hesitate to seek more urgent medical help if you go yellow in the meantime. Meant to say...yes, you'll need someone to collect you & to stay with you for 24 hours. Some people find that codeine-based painkillers aren't great with gall stones but I was okay with them. Good luck, it's a grim thing to go through.
