Peeing all night!

In the past 2 weeks I've suddenly started getting up every 2 hours or so desperate for a wee. I'm knackered! Had my pee tested by stick today all clear so seeing GP tomorrow. I've never had a problem with my lady bits before but have got neuro condition and am taking a wide variety of drugs but this came out of the blue. Has anyone else had this please?

Do you have frequency during the daytime too? Are you waking to wee or weeing because you are awake? Do you have swollen ankles during the day that go down overnight? Any cardiac conditions?

chickensgirl · 27/04/2015 21:01

Hi lilac. No cardiac conditions and no swelling. I'm able to hold it in a lot longer during the day it's the night time that gets worse. Stupidly I googled so now I'm worried it's linked to my spinal cord (I have clots in the brain and high csf).

Hi Chickens,
How did you get on with the GP today? x

chickensgirl · 28/04/2015 20:57

Hi lilac. She didn't think it was neuro (yeahhh!) but took swabs (well actually I took my own! Who knew?). There is a tablet she can give me to calm my bladder but she's loathe to as I'm on so much medication at the moment. But fingers (and legs) crossed it will go. And thanks so much for asking x

Are you due a Neuro appointment soon?

I have a neuro condition that effects my cerebellum and bladder control is a known issue relating to that so it might be worth checking with your specialist as it's such a sudden thing.

chickensgirl · 28/04/2015 21:15

Zozo I googled it and was a bit worried. I'm not due to see a neuro now for 2 months. I've got clots on the brain and high cerebral pressure....do you think it could be linked?

I don't know. It would be worth asking - call your consultants secretary maybe? Mine are happy to answer the odd question between appointments or do quick calls.

I just know that some neuro conditions can effect the bladder and given your history it would be worth checking.

I'm sure it's nothing to worry about!

lilac26 · 29/04/2015 16:03

Chickens, good they did not think it a neuro thing. I was wondering whether it was possible that a clot was impacting upon the part of your brain responsible for producing anti- diuretic hormone but it sounds as though that's not the case.

The tablet to calm your bladder (??anticholinergic at a guess?) - the thing is you say it isn't a problem in the day is it, usually if somebody has an overactive bladder it manifests itself more during the daytime though not necessarily exclusively so. that was a long winded way off agreeing with your thoughts on holding off for now.

I wonder if it is a positional thing - because of laying down as opposed to a time of day /night?

chickensgirl · 29/04/2015 19:32

Hi lilac. I'm def peeing more in the day more it's the night where it's more noticeable. GP really wasn't concerned but I'm not convinced. I've got a very nasty headache developing so if it gets worse I know where hubby will be taking me! Our local a and e doesn't have any on call neuro so it'll be a trip to the big city but fingers crossed it won't come to that. How are you with your condition anyway? Xx

Hi Chickens, fingers crossed it settles down but good to have a plan in case anything else happens.

Me? Thank you for asking. Still following the SWANK diet and still no neuro symptoms and still everything I'd ever had safely gone :). Miserable existence following the diet but better that than the other option.

chickensgirl · 29/04/2015 21:12

Just googled SWANK as I'd never heard of it. It's working for you then? Fab if it is! I think I'd struggle without dairy but I can't stand the milk substitutes. I do need to loose weight tho. Xx

Chickens - no more cotton wool toes or tuning fork legs. No numbness to leg. No more feeling of insects crawling under skin. No strange rib sensation. And, touch wood, no further optic neuritis.

(lost about four stone when I started but put some back on now I have found sweets!)
