Very very anxious right now and would really appreciate some advice. DD (19) has recently had some recurring episodes of feeling weak, feverish and nauseous. Back in Jan she felt breathless playing lacrosse at uni, and said she thought she was unfit, which didn't sound much like her. In Feb she came home for the weekend having been feverish and sick at uni, at easter she had another bout with vomiting, and so when she did it again last weekend with vomiting (couldn't keep anything down) I took her to our GP for blood tests. She said she felt better, but later that day we ended up in A&E for severe dehydration, and given two litres of fluid, and 14 days Amoxiclav. Chest Xray was taken but doc didn't say anything but that he 'thought' it might be a LRTI. Her ESR and CRP are both very elevated, can't remember the rest of the tests. Returned to GP on Friday to collect the final 7 days antibiotics to find out that he didn't even know she had been in A&E, and didn't have hospital test results or xRay. He listened to her chest and said it was clear and there was no noise.
DD has gone back to uni today but is supposed to be organising repeat tests 14 days after the originals, but as that would be BH Monday, she is going to try and get them done this Friday - she has exams starting the week after.
DH and I are supposed to be on holiday abroad that week, but I want to be around in case the results show infection is still there - AIBU?
She has not been coughing, not lost weight, no obvious lumps, no sore throat, no nothing. I am scared sick shouldn't bloody google that she might have lymphoma. The only other thing is that she has been living in student accommodation with, it turns out, an extremely mouldy bathroom that she has been having steamy showers. DH and I are wondering - if her CRP was climbing last Monday (we think it was 186) but she is better now than she was then, given that it can double and redouble etc, does that suggest that this is a bacterial infection? She is pale, still, and a little breathless, and has been quite tired since she started the antibiotics. Could this be something unremarkable? Should we cancel the holiday? Would be very grateful for thoughts please!
