(have name changed)

I have been having more and more problems with my bowels in the past few weeks ans dh is now pestering me to go to the drs about it, but am wondering if i need to.
This is what is oging on with me: regular constipation and diahorrea, when i feel the need to go i have to go asap, very smelly stools, i get frequent bad cramps in my stomach and have loads of wind that in the past few weeks has become painful trapped wind. Its definately getting more and more annoying, but my diet is a bit low in fibre some days so is it just that? DH is muttering about IBS, will the gp just laugh at me and tell me to eat some wholemeal bread?

thanks!

Let us know how you get on at the DRs, in other words, I agree with your DH.

I don't think doctors laugh at anything. But it does sound abit like IBS. It might be worth keeping a food diary and seeing if it occurs after eating something imparticular. You might of become sensitive to some things.

Definitely sounds like IBS or something similar. Doctor will take you seriously, don't worry about that.

no --- and too much fibre can have an effect on your bowels as well as too little

go to the docs..if you have IBS then you can be be prescribed anti spasmodics that will help with the cramps....

HTH!

Sounds like me...IBS. I have to take anti spasmodics when I eat something that I know will set it off. I also suffer wirse when I am stressed/upset.

Otherwise diet controlled. I would see a Dr, as it is always better to get a Dr's diagnosis and you may need tabs.

Peppermint is good for IBS too.

Could be IBS, could be an intolerance you have developed to something. You will never know if you dont go.....

Sounds like IBS to me, but any change in bowel habits should be investigated - agree with your husband.
