For the past two years ive had these open wounds on my scalp ... They start of as small pimples then become very big open wounds that crust over with an itch crumbly scab I went to my doctor becuAse these wounds had spread to my face , neck and arms .. Lots of headaxhes and a very large lymphonode( had a lymph removed when I was 11 under my arm due to cat scratch disease) anyway he gave my dioxycycline 10 day course ... My wounds started to heal wishing two days but then boom! Back and bigger than before very sore to the point the whole back of my head near the name of my neck is very painfull and I now I 3 very hard big swollen lymphs on my neck ... My doc instists these wounds are cysts becuase there's massive lumps inderneathe but they don't smell , no cheese just blood and water from them and he's trying to give me the same antibiotics and I'm starting to feel very ill , I tested positive for group b strep when I was pregnant . He hasn't done a culture or anything and when I kentioned my lymphonodes he didn't even feel them or aknowledge the fact that they were painfull and swollen ( there that swollen I can't turn my head left ) and I know have the worst sore throat ever but becuase I haven't got a fever infact quite the opposite my temps quite low he's not worried ... I spend a lot of time in and out of hospitals with my sons eczema and his own staph infections - what do I do as DONT wanna look like a hypercondriac going into a+e x Tia

Put your foot down and demand an immediate referral to a consultant dermatologist. The doctor has had his chance to fix it and hasn't managed it. You'll have to be prepared to be very bloody minded and literally sit in his surgery if necessary saying 'I'm not leaving until...'

Sorry your in pain , defo go back to GP get referral see if he can do swob for MRSA. You are able to ask for a second opinion things can vary a lot between the same surgery.

What I'm mainly worried about is my lymphonodes it's started In one and now 3 are affect wich by my knowledge something has to spread or travel tk get to another place and I'm worried about it spreading anymore ... Today I also woke up with a wiered cough like a chesty cough but normal you would notice it being a chesty cough once you cough but this cough I could feel it on my chest before I even coughed

I get this sort of thing but not the lymph nodes. I am allergic to most shampoos. Try some non toxic shampoos and conditioners. It can take a few weeks before you see any results.

Coldcabbagestew · 23/04/2015 07:37

Don't go to A&E. Go back to see a different GP and say you are concerned about persistent enlarged lymph nodes and would like to be referred for assessment. Most hospitals run a 'lumps and bumps' clinic for exactly this type of case.

I wouldn't mention MRSA swabs etc I suspect that might be muddying the waters.

Good luck.

I use sulphate free cleaning products due to nhs eczema ... I'm just really worried due to my history with infected lymphonode and removal that they arnt acknowledging my concerns that this has been going in months and antibiotics arnt doing abything

I agree with previous posters that a swab for culture is a good idea, and a referral to Dermatologist.
You could try Octenisan body wash, it's very gentle and can be used on babies, so shouldn't irritate you, and wash your head in it, leave on your skin for at least 5 minutes before you rinse off. So wet your skin with water, use the Octenisan, leave for 5 (chilly) minutes before you rinse. It's available over the counter without a prescription, costs about a fiver. Use it for 5 days, washing your hair with it day 1 and 5. It's used clear patients' of staphylococcal colonisation prior to hospitals surgery.
