My BIL a dentist has had a look in dd2's gum and said the white hard little lump could be a tooth bud , but hes not sure., as it could be bone. Ive got to watch it now and when she gets older she may have to have it removed ,as its growing out the front of the gum to the right.

Anyone else had experience of this??

As far as im aware babies are born with the milk teeth already in the gum anyway, this can be seen on scans etc,not sure if this is exactly what you mean though

were not sure reallyh, its very possible its a milk tooth . Its in an odd place. He doesnt normally deal with infants & hasnt seen it before , so he phoned a proffessor of dentistry who said it didnt need anything done to it at the moment.

Teeth buds start to form as soon as 6/7 weeks into develpopement in the womb. Hence why some children are born with teeth. Adult teeth also develope in utero, later tho.

Teeth can come through in differnet places, you don't say how old dd2 is. Or exactly where the 'tooth' appears to be. But there is a good chance it could be a tooth.

Your BIL should have known this, it is the very basics of tooth development. I am a dental nurse, if I know, he should, regardless of what age sector he treats.

This may help explain
