Pain in ovaries and cervix?

For the past three months I have had intermittent pain really low down around both ovaries sometimes just the right and other times both. It can be really sharp and sometimes more of a dull ache. It seems worse mid cycle. The area is also really tender to touch but my stomach muscles are ruined from pregnancy and I still seem to get that round ligament pain when I roll over in bed so not sure if it's that?

I am also getting a sharp pain in my cervix which feels similar to dilating in early labour.

During the first two days of my period my whole vagina is agony like its being battered. Similar to how it felt after Keillands forceps 3 years ago...

Dc2 is 10 months and I'm still breastfeeding.

I hate going to the doctors and looking like a total hypochondriac!

Does anybody have any suggestions please or experienced similar symptoms? Thanks.

Could be endometriosis. I'd get it checked out. You must be miserable with ongoing pain like that.
I have endo and also had an ovarian cyst removed last year. I had some of the endo scarring removed too. Still some mid cycle pain, but nothing I can't control with co-codamol for a day.

Thanks Said. I don't have heavy periods though, isn't that the main symptom of endo??

You need to go to the GP.

Any pain that is cyclical in nature and gets worse up to and including menses should always be checked out by a gynae (not a GP) to see if endometriosis is present. I would be asking the GP for a referral and do not take no for an answer; such problems are well outside a GPs general remit.

I would also keep a daily pain (note pain on scale from 1-10) and symptom diary noting all of this, such can give the gynae clues.

Painful periods is a common symptom of endometriosis and it can also in some cases cause heavy bleeding.

Thanks Attila, that's a good idea about making a diary first. If I see the GP will they have to examine me before agreeing to a referral?
