DS unfortunately has been told that he needs as many as 5 molars filled. Had one of the five filings today. Up until today, the treatment plan said two molars - one today, one shortly afterwards. Previous dentist gone and today's new dentist apparently identified another 3 cavities - so 5 in all.
He didn't take another x-ray - but nevertheless said that since the previous treatment plan which was based on an x-ray, back in December, 3 more molars needed filling.
- 4 molars in one sitting seems a lot - any thoughts on that? DS apprehensive about that.
- I don't know but can this kind of diagnosis be made without the help of another x-ray?
- Dental surgery doesn't have a hygienist but very clearly DS needs to get to one. Can we seek a referral from him to a NHS hygienist? I'm asking this because he's a private dentist and IF DS needs 5 fillings in all, that's a hefty £400.00 already. And dental insurance difficult - I think you usually have to wait 3 months to make a claim and this can't wait that long.
- NHS will use composite fillings on front teeth - might they on back teeth?
Many thanks for any thoughts or suggestions.
