I cant even get a spoon in my mouth.Sad
I've been eating scrambled eggs, porridge and soup, I also got some meal replacement drinks. I've beem drinking loads of water but I'm so tired and hungry!
I cant see dentist til next week, so any advice would be fantastic.

could you try an osteopath tomorrow?

Janethegirl · 16/04/2015 22:45

Blitz what you fancy in a blender then suck up using a straw. Gross I know, but you won't starve.
Alternatively blitz fruit, vodka and ice ( and cream if you like it) and have a cocktail, using a straw!

ErrolTheDragon · 16/04/2015 22:46

Oh goodness, that sounds grim. When you say 'meal replacement drinks' do you mean the slimfast type things or the sort that are supposed to help build people up like Complan?

WhenMarnieWasThere · 16/04/2015 22:46

Or your gp? It doesn't have to be your dentist.

MrsEvadneCake · 16/04/2015 22:47

Banana blitzed with milk to make a smoothie. Good energy source. Chuck in ground almonds too as that's delicious.

AspieAndNT · 16/04/2015 22:48

Don't think the dentist will be able to do much. You need to see a maxfax consultant.

I shall look around for a osteopath, thank you....my dentist said she thinks I need a guard to wear at night, I didn't think that I grind my teeth! But I've been under a lot of pressure, I guess thats it. Had eye-ache for a couple of weeks too.
I'm so desperately wanting a sandwich, craving carbs!
Banana and milk I'll try too, thanks.
I've been having 'Complan' as suggested by a lady in Boots. Tastes like liquidised cardboard!

I was referred for TMJ disorder and one piece of advice I was given was to use ibuprofen gel on the jaw (obvs on my face not in my mouth!) if I had an acute flare up.

Once you get a guard it will make a massive difference.

Also a soft food diet for a week or so will rest the joint. It's boring though, and having a stuck jaw is horrid. I hope it gets better soon.

pinkrocker · 18/04/2015 22:40

Ah thank you. I'm seeing dentist on Wednesday, I really thought my jaw might have calmed down and opened by now. It's weird how it doesnt bother me at all until I try to eat, no pain til I open my mouth. Maybe I should try ibuprofen before eating?
A liquid diet does include wine, right?

Sounds like you deserve some wine. It contains fruit after all. Wine

This is a useful booklet of physio exercises.... for when your jaw is a bit less tight and painful.
