I've got all of the symptoms, actually ive had loads of them for years but they're getting worse and I can't put up with them now.

I'm going to have to make an appointment at the doctor now for a fasting test - which I'm dreading as that's now my worst symptom Hmm - I get very wibbly so I'm going to have to make it early in the morning or I will start sweating and shaking.

What's prompting me to go now and not on the other times is ive got a huge blister on my foot that won't heal after 2 weeks and at night my vision is blurred and I'm feeling pressure in my head that ive been taking aspirin for - I just googled these 'new' symptoms to find they're also diabetes symptoms.

What can I expect?

I managed to get an appt for a fasting blood test tomorrow, going to have to go with food til 12 though.

My doctors is now doing telephone appts now (I never go) and she called me back within a couple of hours.

My foot blister/ulcer thingy is just as bad. Not healing at all. The doctor said if I didn't have diabetes then I had to make an appt anyway - she also said I'm getting my blood pressure checked as it could be that too.

Hi Laurie my dh has diabetes, he was quite bad and finally went to Dr they gave him tablets and he has to see the nurse regularly. He eats a normal healthy diet, can have some treats. He had to monitor his blood sugar twice a day which wasn't that nice but he soon got used to it, now he doesn't have to do it every day. They want you to lose weight if you need to but you don't have to totally avoid sugar. Some people like to do a low carb diet, but that is not official medical advice and dh doesn't do it. He is quitemhealthy now and it is not a problem.

don't worry even if you are diabetic or pre-diabetic it is nowadays a condition that can easily be managed.

are you overweight?
my fil worked to lose a stone and that was what he needed to get off metformin.
