I am a somewhat neurological mess..with no unifying diagnosis. I have trigeminal neuralgia, ataxia (which comes and goes.. worst bout lasted 7 weeks unable to walk independently, but generally only lasts a few days)

Lots of nerve pain, for which I'm on Gabapentin , which helps. I have now developed extremely painful patches of skin.. one arm and leg. Feels like my skin has been scalded..even the touch of a shirt in painful, but there is nothing to see whatsoever.

I was MRI-d for MS some years ago but no lesions other than 'expected age related changes' although my GP is convinced it is MS. The various problems started in my 30s and I'm now 47 and have just learned to live with it all... however the scalded skin sensation is new and really horrible.

Has anyone experienced this? Is it worth going back to my GP? I kind of feel that there is no point asking them to retest me for MS as the lesions weren't there before.

I have it as part pf the wonderful world of CRPS. I think you def need to see a neurologist, but in the meantime, you can do lots to persuade your brain that the sensation in your arm/leg is normal.

Looking at your skin, touching a normal part, being very aware of how that feels, then touching the affected part is helpful. Use different textures of fabric to do this as well. If you see a physio, mirror box work is great.
