I kind of feel like I have a tablet stuck.

I have to take a lot of meds every day and have always been fairly proud of my ability to neck pills without needing water, etc. so last night took three tablets just before bed, no water.

I woke up at 3am to day with terrible pain between my shoulder blades along with lesser pain in my osephagus, kind of Adams apple level. The pain between my shoulder blades was really bad and the throat pain kind of feels more like something is stuck there.

But I don't think anything is stuck as I can eat and drink ok. When I swallow though it makes the pain in my back worse. I'm still in pain, not as bad as before though.

Is it likely to be related to the tablets?

Eurgh that is hideous, one of the worst pains I've ever had!! Sounds exactly like when I had an antibiotic stuck.

I tried hot things to dissolve it, scratchy things to dislodge it etc, but what worked best was BREAD!! Nice stodgy blob of bread will force it down.

You should never take tablets without water, I read an article about it a few months ago. Seek medical advice, seriously, phone the NHS number & follow whatever advice they give you.

Please do take water with tablets. It makes such a difference.

Well I've managed to eat a pizza for tea ok. But I'm still getting this odd pain. It kind of builds up and then subsides from the back but then I get it at the front and I feel pressure in my central chest between my boobs.

I'll definitly take tablets with water from now on.

If I ring 111 and mention back pain and chest pain they'll be sending an ambulance! I don't think I've had a heart attack!

No but if you mention the tablets they will know what to advise. Please make the call.

My dad had this, I can't remember the proper term but it kind of got inhaled in to his lung. Please do call 111, they will advise what to do.

Have just been googling and found a forum with a thread full of people with the same symptoms all taking the same medication as well which is odd. Like me most had been taking meds without much water and late at night. And they've been advised to not take them last thing.

One was diagnosed with an ulcer which her gP reckoned the meds caused. So if no better tomrrow I'll go to the GP. The one with the ulcer said she couldn't stop burping and ive been burping no end today and I never normally do.
