Natural Remedy for Warts

Hello. My DD seems prone to getting clusters of warts. After messing about with lotions, freezing and being told there was a 4 week waiting list for the cryotherapy clinic at the Dr's surgury and that the waiting list was currently closed (wtf?); my friend suggested lavender essential oil.

Although you should never usually put essential oil directly on skin, lavender oil applied with a cotton bud or similar will have the warts starting to disappear within days. Brilliant.

Just thought I'd share that.

ooooh. I might try this with DS2s warty toes.

I think he's a toad

How many times a day?

Oh, twice a day for the warts. Just being careful not to spill on sensitive skin. Best if you can press it into the wart also. SOmeone suggested dipping a matchstick, but that sounded a bit painful. Cotton bud worked fine.

Must try that on my mossie bites. I CANNOT BELIEVE I've got mossie bites, in England, at the end of Oct.

TYG, My ds's have warts too so I took them to the doctors to get them frozen off but the GP refused to do it because he said it's too painful for children to have done.

At the same appt he froze 2 of mine off and if I had of known it was going to ge so painful I would have kept them.
OMG....it was agony, I really wouldn't advise getting the frozen off at the doctors for children. They turn into huge blisters that you have to wait to pop, then go all scabby.
It was AWFUL.

The doctor told me a very effective way of getting rid of them, which although sounds very odd really does work is to scrap the inside of a banana skin on and paste that on the wart. Then cover with plaster.
He said it's not a quick solution and can take a 4, 5, 6 weeks of daily banana skin scrappings but it really does work.
He was very honest and said he has no idea why it works but he knows it does.

Yeah, DD had a verruca frozen off before and hated it, so we put off the cryo for as long as possible. Unfortunately she has ANOTHER verruca now too, and the lavender doesn't seem to be effective as it's under the skin. Trying the "home freezing" kit thingy to see if we can nab it.

dd had terrible warts, tried everything, gp threatening to burn them off when a friend suggested this

'get a dandelion, split the stalk and rub the juice all over the warts'

thats it, they just dissapeared within about a week or so never to return
