chest discomfort worry

Went walking this weekend (love walking in the countryside and go on walking holidays etc) if noticed pain - well more like a tight and heartburn dd sort of pain when walking uphill which eased when going on the flat or downhill. I did think before for a few weeks it might be coming down with some sort of bug etc - people at work ill etc. Never got ill and it doesn't hurt if I take a deep breath.
Should I be worried?

BTW this IS recent as I did a weeks walking holiday in early Feb in spain in mountains and not had pain.
Also - started on mirena coil and sandrena (oestrogen) gel -hrt recently
Could this be a side effect?

Was it cold/damp? I think my asthma type condition came on with prolonged exercise in cold conditions.

tigersack · 22/03/2015 19:47

Today and yesterday in the gorgeous forest of Bowland were sunny and nice

Was Spain warm , at altitude?

tigersack · 22/03/2015 19:49

Also I have felt it a few times but thought it was 'coming down with something ' but realise now it's linked to walking uphill on our walks (weekdays we troll along on the flat so no symptom)

Anyone have experience?

yes you should be worried any chest pain on exertion is heart related until proven otherwise. You must see your Doctor ASAP and if it gets worse or lasting more than a couple of mins you ring 999 immediately. Sorry don't want to scare you but you must get it checked out!!

BoreOfWhabylon · 22/03/2015 20:35

Agree with Penguin, you should see your doctor in the am - assuming you have no further pain between now and then.

Chest pain can be due to lots of different causes - some serious, others not but you won't know until you see your GP.

Some information

tigersack · 22/03/2015 20:44

Shit!!!!
But it's not mega hurty pain?

OP posts:
tigersack · 22/03/2015 20:48

Don't want to go to doctors and seem a tit and timewaster

OP posts:
BoreOfWhabylon · 22/03/2015 20:53

You won't seem a tit and a timewaster. You are having chest discomfort on exertion. You need to see your GP.

Do not wait for mega-hurty pain!

PenguinPoser · 22/03/2015 20:54

100% not time wasting. It's not mega hurty till it gets more serious. Emergency GP appt tomorrow please and hospital if pain overnight! I promise this is something they will take seriously. In meantime no hills!

tigersack · 28/03/2015 17:36

Got my appointment through for Wednesday
I'm thinking it's nothing again - maybe stress? Maybe it didn't really HURT but was discomfort
I walked up a couple of steep hills today to 'check' I did feel discomfort and nausea but unsure
If will go to the appointment and see.
