Did they do any treatment during the lap eg.Endometriosis? Ive had 2 laps. The first, nothing was done, just a rummage around. Started feeling much better after a week. No lifting for the month though (I'm a carer to my DS so was an important rule for me)
The 2nd lap some endometriosis was a latex and 1000mls of saline left inside to prevent scar tissue sticking things together. This recovery took a fortnight. I was back to my usual routine after three weeks. No lifting though.

The gas pains in my chest/shouldee area were uncomfortable but subsided after about 48 hours.

Sleep as much as you can, walk around often, drink lots of water, don't strain on the loo! And I hope you feel better soon.

It wasn't a latex Confused it was ablated!!

At least a week, although that was 20+ ago so could be less pain now.

Doctor said the pain is very close to c section.

I had a laparoscopy with dye testing and felt fine. Went back to work the next day.

I am sure laparoscopies where they do a procedure are different entirely.

Hello. My first lap I was back to work after 3 days. Second one was in surgery for 7 hours and had loads of work done, they kept me in for 3 days then I had a week at home, not bed rest though just pottering about the house, cooking and light cleaning

I've had 4.
Depending on how strenuous your job/life is, I'd expect to be recovering for at least a week. And the more they do, the longer the recovery.

I'm busy on my feet all day in my current job and consequently needed a fortnight off for my last one.

I had my womb lining burnt off and some cysts removed.

feel a bit better today but still needing painkillers, but as I also have dreadful ibs am not a happy woman!

I do a lot of lifting in my work, all very physical. so wondering if I will be ok by monday?

I had one due to terrible pain each month around my period...I had a scan and they found a small ovarian cyst and endometriosis I was referred to a general gyney who said a lap was needed to investigated more.

I was told oh you'll be off for a few days then back to work. I was off work for 2 weeks...I had to stay in overnight as the pain in my shoulders (gas rising up, escaping) was horrific it main me feel faint.

The pain in my shoulders was the most painful part I think .. I drank lots of mint tea which is meant to help.

After a few days at home and meds I was whittling about work then after speaking to my boss he said just take a week off and relax and see how you feel.

One of my wounds then got abit sore and slightly infected so I took the following week off.

Everyone is different, take your time and dont rush it.

Sadly my pain came back after 6 weeks I then investigated endo and realised it was a specialist I needed to fully understood...I found my own on the NHS and now manage my pain rather than more surgery

When I had my gallbladder out last year one of the nurses gave me a brilliant tip to reduce the shoulder pain. Raise your arms above your head and stretch up as high as you can. You burp like mad but it really reduced the pain for me. With that and bucket loads of peppermint tea I had minimal pain.
