Bcg no longer routine?

Does anyone know why the bcg vaccination against tb is no longer offered routinely on the nhs? My eldest was vaccinated within 12 hours of being born as he was born in inner city London but my youngest who was born outside London didn't get offered it and apparently won't receive it at all. It seems strange that babies born in London get it quite so urgently when it is apparently not necessary to have it at all in the rest of the country. I think it used to be given nationwide at around 12 yrs old. Does anyone know why that stopped?

It's based on risk. They still get it in Manchester and I think Birmingham

You are statistically more likely to be exposed to TB in certain parts of London. I'm not sure that even all boroughs offer it.

Its probably not considered financially sound to vaccinate the whole country.

There is always a cost/benefit analysis, and if you don't live in a high risk area the benefit doesn't outweigh the cost (not just financial).

Not all London boroughs offer it
