Does anyone take Floridax magnesium for headaches/ migraines?

Does it help?

I get headaches that makes me feel sick.
They last 3 or 4 days.
I can still function but I feel rubbish.
I have had what I would call mild migraines. Sometimes one eye with quite drastically droop.
I take ibuprofen and sometime codeine with paracetamol.
It takes the edge off.

I'm fed up with it and have read on here that magnesium can help.

I take it and it does help me. I bought some for my son, also a sufferer but he said it did not help him. It certainly won't do you any harm. I think you have to persevere. I also use the magnesium spray, as well as the Floradix, they do a night time one. I massage it into my neck and shoulders before bed.

I take prescription Natamig for my migraine, and have had to take less since starting the magnesium.

Thanks.
Do you take namatig when you feel one starting or constantly?

Sorry it's NARAMIG. I spelt it incorrectly. I take them when it starts. You are only allowed 6 a month.

These have literally changed my life. Before they were prescribed my headaches were unbearable. Lasting over 24 hours at a time with. Vomiting for 2. Days. I started them 5 years ago and have not had a proper migraine since.

Have you asked for any migraine prescription from your GP. Not everyone gets on with Naramig, but nowadays there are many more types available.

I had migraine from 16 to 60 so I would advise anyone to visit their GP.

the only medicine ive been given was a very low dose amiltryptaline a couple of years ago to shake of a headache that i had for over a month.

i do think i need to go back to get some thing to take when it starts.

thanks

If you have a good doctor you could mention the Naramig. My son was prescribed it first and I was very nervous about mentioning it to my Doctor. I did not want him to think I as self prescribing. Fortunately for me, he was a sufferer too so was very good about it.

Hope you get something.

No experience of the floridex but I am a long-time, moderate migraine sufferer and my doctor has told me to stop taking paracetamol and products with codiene as these can cause migraines.

I now only take ibuprofen when I have another pain (period/toothache etc) and sumatriptan for migraine.

Things have greatly improved, though I was getting a migraine headache for 2 weeks out of 4 and taking a lot of painkillers for them.

Might be worth speaking with your gp to see if he concurs.

I've had acupuncture, taken amitriptlyn, massage, hormone levelling vitamins, given up an array of foods and the only thing that has improved them is stopping the paracetamol and codiene and also making sure I get up at exactly the same time everyday.

Wish you well, it is miserable, I know. Thanks

I will only take 1 paracetamol and codeine tablet.
I really don't want rebound headaches.
I do normally use ibuprofen.
I will speak to my GP.

Its grim isnt it. I found magnesium gave me a terrible upset stomach and I had to stop taking it. Am on long term Amitriptyline which helps, but CoQ10 150mg daily has made a huge difference to me, headaches and migraines have been at least halved. More about it here.
