Did anyone else loose their breastmilk when taking the mini-pill?

A couple of weeks ago I started the mini-pill and I realised after a few days that I was no longer producing breastmilk. Luckliy my DS is old enough to be fully weened and actually it has helped me out with getting him off night feeds, but it wasn't a listed side effect. It would have been a nightmare if he was younger. Anyone else come across this?

Dr Jack Newman (breastfeeding guru) has mentioned it occurring anecdotally , you could report it through the yellow card scheme?

I took the mini pill for a few days when dd1 was about 3 months. She would not feed at all. I think it did something to make the milk different (taste? Reduced supply?) might be coincidence as she was a high maintenance baby

Well not no feeding, but was a nightmare

I took while bfing DD for 18 months with no problems and now have been taking it for 6 months while bfing DS. I don't think it's supposed to affect supply so could it be something else?

thanks all, SecretSpy whats the yellow card scheme? As my DS is 1 and I had cut back to just night feeds I could only think that maybe it was a natural decline that was helped by the pill. He was feeding up to six times though.

yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/the-yellow-card-scheme/

It's how patients and medical professionals can report suspected side effects of medications and it helps with future advice - eg if enough people report a similar problem, it may become part of the advice for the drug or trigger further review/research.
