how can we get some sleep!?!

DS1 coughing and spluttering but is quite wheezy with it. its keeping him up which is going to in turn keep us up. have tried him with benylin but its not helped, nor did i think it would but it was worth a try. How can i hekp him sleep so he doesn't wake his brother? and is this just a thing Drs will brush off or am i to brave the early morning phone in at gp's?

Try some honey in warm water and get him to sip it. Works a treat for my two, especially if they're wheezy. Also try some steam in the room. I've got humidifiers now and switch them on if the boys have a cold, also works well. We're only 20% humidity at best here in Colorado so had that recommended to me.

DP has just been prescribed an inhaler by the GP due to wheezing and coughing as a result of a cold/flu. GP said theres been a lot of it about and certainly didn't just dismiss it.

We weren't sleeping at all as he just wheezed and coughed all night -I ended up sleeping on the sofa bed for a week!

vicks on the chest helps, so many people/children have it at the moment, it's the damp weather

MerlinsBeard · 24/10/2006 22:32

an inhalor...ooo eck!

vicks, thank you had forgotten that. he seems to have settled for now so if he wakes again (should that be when) i will put some of that on

bettybat - my dd had this for 4 weeks and i took her back to doc, she had no wheeze but coughed in her sleep in the night. and i could see she was suffering from lack of a goods night sleep.
he gave her an inhaler for 5 days, it went!
i am delighted, she hasnt had to take it since, there was no infection according to him btu it helped and solved the problem.
