Periods not behaving!

OK, I'm 44, have always had regular periods(every 28-33 days) and lasting about 5-7 days. The last 2 months it has barely lasted a day, not enough for a regular tampon. It's usually heavy for 2 days then fades out. Haven't had the tell tale sore boobs for a week before either. DP had the snip 5 years ago and no signs of being pg. Wasn't expecting menopause just yet! Anyone else had this?

I am defo in peri menopause and I have been for the last four years and I am 45. The GP says I am not, but they are too general to know. I have changed all my bed linen to cotton or natural to counter temperature at night. I think there are many women in peri menopause from age 41 onwards

Really? Haven't had any other symptoms yet. My mum was 50 at least. Last year and year before i recall missing a period in the summer which i put down to holiday stress and travel etc but nothing else really. i realise reading other threads that 40 plus means all change and anything goes period wise, from heavy to scanty!

Ooh I also missed a period last summer and the one before. I am 43 and a half ;)
I have also had a 14 day gap (once) between periods. Last one was 10 days long. They have been variable for the last 2 years. Your mum may have had her proper menopause (12 months after final period) around age 50, but it is likely she had changes for several years prior to that.

onepiece i suppose that's likely. Funny(?) but today without warning my body decided to give me my period with no warning whilst at work.Whoosh!!! TMI? I can't tell you how happy it made me. It sounds so silly but i felt like it was trapped inside me somehow.

That has kind of happened to me too, also at work. More of a warm squidge (tmi) when the start is usually more gradual, and I was grateful I always have a bag full of lillets and pads! I wish that periods just stopped, and that was the end of it all.
