I know there was a long running thread a while back with loads of info on re IBD- I wonder if there's anyone still around who would like to join another one

I went on Dr Google AND Dr Mumsnet and self diagnosed

now I've had some test (blood and poo) results back and the GP thinks so too. Am now waiting for a colonoscopy

while I'm twiddling my thumbs (and staying within running distance of the toilet) has anyone got anything to tell me- pref positive, but I can take negative. Honest.

Hi! another Crohnie here. I'm feeling mostly good, but I've started a new antidepressant (sertraline) and weaning off lofepramine, and I've had a few loose stools since. I'm just hoping it's a temporary side effect of the meds, and not the start of a flare.

Just bumping to see how everyone is? I'm doing ok but the antibiotics for the water infection have given me the runs a bit. Saw the surgeon last week & I'm making an excellent recovery, staples are out & wound healing well. Just need to stop going to the loo & start putting my weight back on - I need to put a stone on but as I'm eating well now that shouldn't take too long. Take care everyone x

Bump

I had my ileostomy reversal in May, ended up in hosp for five weeks on TPN as I had complications (fistula formed under wound after 10 days and another sinus fistula next to it).

Since then though I have been very well and am back to work full time. I've had a colonoscopy last week and due an MRI soon to check for any last bits of infection before they put me back on the Infliximab infusions. Haven't felt this well in years (but have piled the weight back on - hey ho, I'd rather be 'comfortable' and well than thin and ill!)

Gobbin that's great news, although I'm sorry you were so poorly after your op. I went back to work in June - about 14 weeks after my surgery. Colonoscopy in May showed no inflammation at the join site so I am finally in remission after nearly 4 years. I'm not med free but I'm really well - can eat almost anything & my weight has increased well, although I don't want to put anymore on.

Hope everyone else is doing ok. Baubles how is your little one?

Whats an ileostomy?
Glad you are feeling better! Don't worry about the weight yet just recover fully first!

mrsp brill your in remission after soo long!

ds is5 next week. He had cdiff back in march.
Scopes from last November showed inflammation at entrance of colon. Scope in march showed lymph nodes nodules but only 1/2 so nothing significant even though they shouldnt be there.
Hes had stool sent off 3x since and hea cdiff free according to gp. Consulant thinks he isnt as the calproctectin test showed inflammation.

Thought id bump. Meant to ask how everyone is but didnt get a chance

Baubles an ileostomy is like a colostomy where they bring your bowel to the outside into a bag, but involving the small bowel.

My colonoscopy showed inflammation at the join site after just 3 months, so no remission for me (have never been in remission in fact) so infusions it is. Again.
