I had an eye test a few days ago and the optician noticed that my eyes sometimes flicker from side to side. They've done it for about 6 months but it's becoming more frequent and noticeable to others. I've also been having some dizzy spells, and my memory is awful lately. (I'm 37 with 3 kids so put it down it being busy). I've also noticed that a problem with my fingers. I struggle to pick up small items from the floor, my thumbs feel odd and I can't always make my thumb touch my fingertips. It's intermittent but I'm noticing it more often lately. No other health problems, non smoker, non drinker, weight fine and no other meds. I've googled a few things and immediately regretted it as they all seem to mention other symptoms which I don't have. Has anyone else had anything like this? GP appointments are like unicorn poo around here and I hate to take up their time with something that's probably nothing :-/ Thanks in advance x

You need to make that GP appointment bluefish.

Your symptoms could be due to a whole host of causes - not necessarily serious ones but definitely need investigation. In the meantime, please try to stay away from Google, you'll only scare yourself.

You have as much right to see your GP as the next person. Call tomorrow morning and make the appt. And step away from Dr Google.

As above go to your GP, but as your symptoms are diverse sit down quietly first with a pad and pen and write them all out, from the smallest niggles just in case you forget one. Good luck

Please make that appointment, make a list as others have suggested.

That's called Nystagmus. I had to take her to A&E once with uncontrollable vomiting and dizziness and during the initial examination they noticed that her eyes were flickering slightly.

It turned out to be caused by an imbalance in her inner ear.

Not hugely relevant I suppose, but worth knowing that the cause isn't always serious.

Make the list.
Make the GP appointment and insist on a referral to a neurologist.
You are not wasting anybody's time.

I second the neuro referral. You are not wasting your GP's time. Stay away from Google. Hopefully it's a case of ruling things out and it's something treatable.
