I think there is a support group - will try to find it. The brother of a girl in ds1's class had this - took ages to diagnose him. I think he has grown out of it now but had a very rough period around age 7-8.

I had it when I was a child- I gew out of it gradually, attacks spaced out more and more until I was in my late teens. I do still get migraines though, and I think they are thought to be connected although I haven't looked into it for ages. It's not pleasant but it's not the end of the world.

Thanks very much saggarmakersbottomknocker
I had never heard of it before
He is yet to have an official diagnosis ,but as i understand it is very rare and very difficult to pinpoint, his symptoms are almost textbook and he is a serious case from what i can gather.
Very frightening for his parents as they thought they had lost him the other day.
Im sure they will appreciate knowing that there is a support group out there.

I imagine it is quite serious for a little one - because they get dehydrated so easily. The boy I knew was often in hospital on a drip during his attacks. Poor thing.

yes this is what has happened on several occasions now ,his parents have been told to call an ambulance every time now after his last attack.
He was grey and lifeless and even his veins had collapsed initially.

It must be hard with such a tiny child- I didn't start until I was 2 (it was my second birthday, and birthdays often triggered my attacks). I guess all that can be done is to keep monitoring and keep fluid levels up- I used to get very dehydrated.
