I've tried everywhere I can think of, only places I can find are CityDoc, based at Wicker pharmacy & a private GP in Broomhill but am really hoping for somewhere cheaper! My friend had her little girl vaccinated for £50 per shot & so I've been hoping to find somewhere nearer this price as I've recently become a single mum & it makes a big difference with 4 doses to be administered (2 kids).

Thanks awfully if anyone can help

City Doc cites 65/shot? Maybe you can haggle if you bring 2 kids at the same time, since they save time on the consultation?

May I ask why you want to vaccinate your children from chicken pox, rather than letting them get them naturally?

"chicken pox is a mild disease for most people"
Mayo Clinic www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/chickenpox/basics/definition/con-20019025

"Chickenpox is usually mild and lasts 5 to 10 days."
Medline Plus www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/chickenpox.html

CDC says it does not guareentee you from not getting chicken pox, and it wears off after a certain amount of years. Therefore you will have to continue to vaccinate your child. Compare that to getting chicken pox naturally, you wont get natural immunity, where it is lifelong immunity. And everytime you come across someone with chickpox, your body automatically gets a booster shot without you coming down with the disease.

Also chicken pox as a child is pretty mild but it more serious when an adult gets it. Hence the reason why we try our best to expose our children to chicken pox when their young.

chicken Pox vaccine has been reported to cause injury/death
National Vaccine Information Centre www.nvic.org/vaccines-and-diseases/Chickenpox.aspx

I would strongly suggest you rethink this and do your own research. From the above website you can find the vaccine insert, and read it for yourself. So that you know what the benefits/ risks/ ingredients are.

I hope this helps.

Sophie - why are you linking to the nvic? They are a quack site who are not to be taken seriously, despite the official sounding name.

It is up to the OP if she wants to vax against chickenpox, to most people it is mild, in my personal experience it can have deadly and long term consequences.

Chicken pox vaccine forms part of our routine schedule here in Aus! Why not vaccinate against it? I would now. Far kinder to have just a couple of tiny spots or nothing at all! Grin
