Alternative treatment for recurring thrush infection?

Since having my first baby 20 months ago I've had bouts of thrush that appear to be resistant to every conventional treatment.

The last one, prescribed by my GP, was supposed to 'blitz it' but it has done nothing of the sort and I'm starting to despair.

I'm not normally into alternative medicine but I'd be curious to hear if any of you have had any success.

Thanks!

You poor thing, I had this when ds was born and it lasted about 5 months and I thought that was bad - 20 months is awful. I was told by gp to take the oral tablets one a day for three days - that did the trick. I didn't find any alternative that worked.

Gentian Violet - not tried it myself

Thanks for the immediate response! I have not yet tried the tablets, but I'll give them a go now. Browsing those pseudo-medical sites on the subject I've just read that one is supposed to give up alcohol, coffee, and all refined sugars, in order to get rid of candida for ever.

Now I'm REALLY depressed...

You can also buy the good bacteria stuff in health food stores - can't remember what it's called - you can get it as a powder
