Can anyone recommend one of the above in London area?
Need someone who knows about hashi's and adrenals and is not going to just bang on about thyroxine and t4 as I definately think mine is a low t3 adrenal problem.
Am currently reading stop the thyroid madness and I'm so hacked off by lack of GP's knowledge and frustrated by my own ability to sort things out for myself.

Starting point. Friend recommends him www.londonbridgehospital.com/LBH/consultant-det/dr-steven-hurel/

That one seems to need GP referral - anyone know of any that are totally separate from your GP? Thanks

RockinD · 07/01/2015 16:58

If you get on the ThyroidUK Forum on www.healthunlocked.com they have a list of doctors who have done better than most at this stuff. I have heard good reports of Dr Liam Chapman at the Centre for Integrated Medicine in Hendon and as far as I am aware he does not require a GP referral. Another possibility may be Barry Peatfield in Sussex.

thanks, I will take a look.

Thanks all. Have been to see Dr Peatfield who was most helpful! Fingers crossed now that it will work!

I'm interested! I don't plan to see an endocrinologist because my hypothyroidism is well managed by levothyroxine, but I'm interested to know if Dr Peatfield has any other recommendations for optimising health. Supplements, for instance, or views on natural versus synthetic thyroxine.
Anything to report?

helzapoppin I would recommend you read dr peatfields book (easily found on amazon etc). Well worth the money and then you will probably want to see him Smile

I just wanted to say I can't believe how much better I'm beginning to feel through upping ferritin. (And checking vit d and b12)
