Has anyone had any experience of using Mefenamic Acid to help with period pain?

I went to the doctors this morning as I have been suffering with terrible period pain since having my DS. Each month the pain has gotten worse until this period just gone where my DH had to take the day off work as I was unable to look after my DS or function at all.

My doctor has prescribed me Mefenamic Acid to take only during my period to help with the pain. Has anyone any experience of taking this? Has it helped?

Bit of an update, I've had my referral through to gynae outpatients and I've been booked in for a hysteroscopy in a couple of weeks time.

The procedure doesn't sound very pleasant and to top it off it's been booked for the week my period is potentially due.

I'm now waiting for the consultants secretary to call me back and let me know if I can have the procedure done when on my period.

Things are moving slightly faster than I thought they would so that's a real bonus.

Similar to another comment, yes it worked for me as well as Tranexamic Acid for heavy periods. I get both from the same online pharmacy
