Hello

I have a rectocele. Still waiting to see gynea about it. I have constant nausea which I think is due to constipation so today I have bought movicol from the pharmacy. I've taken it before when it's been prescribed but can't get a DR appointment and I was hoping this may help me make things more comfortable.

That's it really... there's no one in real life I can talk to about this :(

I understand that up to eight Movicol sachets daily are quite safe (I now have three, last one at bedtime). Any painkillers mean extra laxative required, as well as extra water when constipated, and it's surprising how much is required, particularly if temperature rises.
Hope you improve soon, but lots of us know about this problem so don't be embarrassed.

Any luck?

I had an impaction a few years ago & my GP prescribed Movicol. I was told to dissolve 8 sachets in a litre of water & drink it slowly over about 6 hours & drink about a litre of water as well. He also gave me something called Motillium which speeds up digestive transit & stops nausea. It worked but the pain was awful. You used to be able to buy Motillium from a chemist but they stopped that recently & now it's prescription only. I still take it now & again as it helps with my nausea when my Crohn's is flaring. Hope you feel better soon Thanks
