I have lost my baby weight plus another stone (now down to 8 stone) without trying, I am eating well but still losing weight. I'm being nagged by DH & Mum to go to Drs but I don't want to be a timewaster. Is it just being on the go all day? DS is 10 mnths old.

Are you breastfeeding? Some people find that burns lots of calories. If you are worried go to the GP.

Yes, you should definitely go to the GP. It probably is just being on the go all the time - but you don't want to be seriously underweight, it will rob you of energy and damage your health. At the least you can get some good dietary advice - and the GP can put your (and your parents' ) mind at rest about the infinitessimally small chance that there is anything else behind your weight loss.

Unplanned Weight Loss

Daily fluctuation in weight is normal. But generally speaking, an unintentional 10-15% drop in your normal weight suggests that you may have a hidden problem. It could be as simple as a thyroid gland acting up or a hormonal deficiency. It can be a harbinger of diabetes if accompanied by other symptoms such as excessive thirst, fatigue or vision problems. A liver problem that results in fats and other nutrients not being absorbed into the body can also result in weight loss, especially if you feel hungry a lot. Even if it?s ultimately tied to stress or emotions, it?s not a symptom without consequences.

Please do not google as a symptom you will only scare yourself .. just go to docs and get it checked

I'll lay odds its thyroid / hormonal

I've heard that this does happen to some women after childbirth .Fiona Phillips, you know gmtv woman? She said the weight just fell off her and she changed shape completely.

You won't be timewasting, honestly. It's better to take 5mins of the gp's time and get checked out than to get really ill, isn't it?
