For the last 5 weeks I've been having right sides head aches. Started waking up with pain around eye and in ear but it wore off after I got up. After a week or so it was boggling on and off throughout the day so I went to the drs who said it's probably migraines. The pain is around my eye and nose and also my teeth ache. I went to hospital twice as I was in a lot of discomfort. They said both times
Migraines and I was given migraine tablets but they haven't made a difference. Went back to drs who are aged an MRI on my request due to me being freaked out and scared about what it was. My face was act and I had some Tingling and numbness around cheek/jaw. MRI had and although the radiographer hadn't reported the neurologist looked at it and he said it looked fine. He's awaiting someone to report it but he couldn't see anything suspicious. Since then my right eye has ached more and my vision is blurry. Went to specsavers and now have glasses for reading. This last week has been awful though with such pressure behind my eye and when I wake in the night I can't see properly and if I lie on my right side my ear feels uncomfy and eye aches but if I lie on the left my right nostril blocks. I asked Dr about sinuses but she said she thinks it's still migraine related. My eye seems to be throbbing more and more and my teeth have been aching and pain along cheekbone (running under eye by nose)
I am so fed up. Been emotional tonight as scared I'm going to go blind or something awful will happen. I've worked myself up so much these last few weeks and am totally fed up of feeling rotten. I just need some friendly advice and reassurance! I keep making myself feel sick by worrying and reading all sorts!
Sorry for long post!!

Well I've been to the doctors and he has actually said he thinks I have neuralgia! He checked my face and pressed down in places and after he let go it actually hurt but I was mainly around my mouth and teeth he was pressing. He's given me stronger painkillers and a very low dose of anti depressants. Seeing neurologist on weds and ENT next week so I'm Mr ruling anything sinus wise out yet until I've been properly checked over! Just felt glad that someone actually checked me and he knew I was in pain too. Il give the meds a go whilst I'm waiting to see if anything improves. I did read somewhere in here about someone who was diagnosed with sinusitis but after a few yes they realised it was neuralgia. I suppose the symptoms are similar with them being in the same areas in the face etc.
All Id like to do now is sleep for a week. I'm so tired. Not going to happen with 3 kids though BrewBrewBrewBrew

I wonder if it could be teeth grinding at night. I heard that this could cause headaches jaw pain and so on.

Sneezy · 03/11/2014 18:22

My dentist has given me a mouth guard to see if that helps! It actually made my teeth hurt though but il keep trying it.

Chesty coffin- eek! Glad your better now though! Mine feels like that but my eye throbs too. Although I understand this can be a neuralgia sign too! Ahhh frustrating!

Can't believe you're having such a rubbish time! Fingers crossed they'll get to the bottom of it soon. Just keep going back if there's no change. Wish I was closer to help Sad xxxxxxx

Sorry you're having such a rotten time sneezy. I've got similar pain today and am trying to suss out whether it's 'just' my first ever migraine or something else causing it. Got an opticians apt at the weekend and I'll try sinutab tomorrow.

Hope you get to the bottom of it soon.

Sneezy · 05/11/2014 11:08

How are you today meglet?

I have my appointment tonight with neurologist and I'm really nervous! My face feels really tight like it is being pulled! Feels swollen and makes it feel like i can't see properly out of my right eye but it doesn't look swollen!!

How did you get on as u have something similar

Sneezy · 27/09/2015 22:04

So sorry. Just seen this message back.
I'm ok. Had lots of tests and scans and all fine. They seem to think it was neuralgia but a dental consultant thought it may be muscular and teeth. I had a mouth guard and that seemed to help.
Hope your problem has now gone? X

Thank you sneezy. I'm glad things are better for you. I still habe the problem. Maybe clenching but I, not sure it's like pressure and tingling across my face. It's like water torture.

Sneezy · 01/10/2015 13:49

Oh no! Maybe worth a visit to the dentist to see? I really didn't think I was grinding my teeth but since wearing the guard I would notice in the day when my teeth were clenched when I was doing tasks etc. And I don't think the worry helped as I talked myself into awful things!
